Most people have heard of trading in regards to the New York Stock Exchange and Forex is not hugely different from that. Forex is not the same because trading is in currency as opposed to stock. There are no limitations to the profit you can acquire, or the profit you can lose.

The Forex markets can be tapped into online, over the phone or by contacting a broker in person. If you are driven to making money, you can do it on the Forex market, without having to have employees, or a broker to do this. You can get involved in learning about the investments in the Forex markets, and take on the responsibility for your own trades, and making your own money. Many folks are starting their own businesses using their knowledge and experience on the Forex market to make money, following trading strategies such as Forex Income Engine.

The Forex market is one that is global, so there is sure to be something of interest to just about anyone that intends expanding their investments and expand their learning about money in the global markets. There are a lot of teachers in the Forex markets such as Bill Poulos of Forex Income Engine 2 and John Chen, who have their own systems they recommend following.

There are no go betweens, such as huge banks or such when you are involved in the Forex market. There is no need for fees and transaction fees when you do your own trading on the Forex markets. You can learn the Forex trading system that best suits your learning needs, and follow it to chart companies, chart growths, and to invest in companies that have a solid future. There are companies and markets across the globe that you can invest with, to grow your portfolio and your investment portfolio.

A few different regions of trading exist in the Forex markets, with markets in Japan, Asia Pacific, and in the Americas. Trading is always non-stop, and moving from London to New York, to Tokyo and so on over and over. You can invest in the US dollar, the Euro, the Japanese Yen, or in Swiss Franc for example.

There is a danger with the market though, especially if you are not educated on the subject. It is possible to invest with more money than you have in your trading account so if a dramatic change happens you can find yourself massively in profit but alternatively with a large loss. These are the risks associated with all trading and why you should always start trading on a dummy account. I would also advise studying first before you begin with a course such as Forex Income Engine 2.0.

Automated Forex systems (a.k.a expert advisors) are the key to making the most out of foreign trading currency markets.

Forex Trading: Opportunities Lost and Gained

Forex trading (the buying and selling of one currency against another to capitalize on fluctuating currency values) never sleeps. With only very minor exceptions on the weekend, Forex trading is ongoing in some time zone, in some country of the world. There is no opening or closing bell on the Forex market.

Inherently, the Forex market is structured in a way that invites investing missteps and missed opportunities. Because markets are opening and closing continuously, changes to the market are occurring continuously, and unless you are a person that never, ever sleeps or eats, the potential for you to miss out (or worse, lose out) is ever-present.

The only way to even the playing field in your favor is to use an automated Forex trading system to do your work for you. In fact, these systems are the very tools the pros use so that they never miss a currency trading beat.

Forex Automated Trading Systems Explained

Automated Forex trading systems are used to buy and sell on the Forex markets any time of the day; that means that you can still enjoy optimal Forex trading and get on with the rest of your life.

Automated Forex systems (expert advisors) work according to your trading instructions. On your own, or with the help of a trading mentor, you set the parameters of your Forex trading program and instruct the system to move accordingly. The rules that you use to program your system, your trading instructions are signals to exact points of entry and exit into markets.

A number of parameters can be set within your automated Forex trading system. You can define price patterns, market trends (such as fading or counter trends, following trends, or breakout trends), price points, averages, technical indicators, price level proximity and such as your rules for trading. The system will then use the parameters to create an algorithm that will work automatically on your behalf—any time of the day or night, any day of the year in any market the world over.

Improve Forex Trading With Automated Forex Trading Systems

By now, no doubt you’ve noticed a theme; automated Forex Trading Systems manage your currency trading portfolio all the time. They trade exactly as you would if you were able to do nothing else but sit by your computer and manage trades all day and night long, all week and year long. With a good automated Forex system, there is no worry that you will miss an important investment opportunity or bail-out point overnight or while at work; and there are no hounding phone calls at inopportune times from your broker who requires immediate instruction. This is the most crucial advantage of Forex trading with automated Forex trading systems, and the best reason to use one.

But the advantages of automated Forex trading systems are not limited to their “always on” capabilities. Automated Forex systems also take a lot of the human element—that element that is so oft responsible for lapses in heat-of-the-moment judgments, out of the trading equation.

Automated Forex systems allow you to carefully examine your own trading style ahead of time and design the system that works the best for you. You can tailor your trading to your own risk tolerance levels, which are inputted into your system. In so doing, the responsibility for making pressured decisions on-the-spot in an ever changing market is removed.

Automated Forex systems take the stress and emotion out of currency trading decisions. Guesswork and room for interpretation are eliminated; fear and greed are eliminated; reliable, predictable progress is what remains; in the end, all you see is the results.

To sum it up, automated Forex trading systems take the least advantageous elements of the human side of trading out of the process, and replaces it with reliable, precise currency trading instruction. In a currency market that is always evolving, the only way to maximize results is to let this modern technology work for you.

Understand the forex market.A moving average is an average of a predetermined number of prices such as the closing prices calculated over a number of periods like 50 candles. The higher the number of candles in the average, the smoother the line is. Get good forex training.

Develop your own forex trading system. Moving averages are of two types. 1) Simple Moving Averages (SMAs). 2) Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). SMA is only a simple average. It is obtained by adding all the candles that you would like to measure. EMA is obtained by exponentially smoothing the SMA. The EMA responds more quickly to price changes as compared to SMA. EMA pays more attention to newer candles.

A moving average makes it easier to visualize price action without statistical noise. Instead of watching the up and down behavior of each candle, you are watching the relatively smooth moving average line.

Moving averages are lagging not leading indicators and its signal occurs after the new price movement not before it. Moving averages do not think ahead and they can only tell you what has happened, not what will happen.

Nonetheless, MAs have a critical role to play in planning your trades in advance. Past does not always predict the future. But it sure likes to repeat itself. Several different moving averages are used at once on the same chart. These different MAs offer different pieces of the puzzle when planning our trades.

When the market is steadily rolling, moving averages keep us in our trades. If something changes like the moving average crossover, time to get out or trade the new direction. Moving averages are frequently used as price filters.

To filter choppier price action into a reliable indication for true price action, a short term moving average has to cross a long term moving average. The most obvious use of moving averages is to watch for crossovers to confirm new trends.

Short term moving averages are more sensitive to price action as they are measuring fewer candles. Longer term moving averages are less sensitive to price action. They tend to be more flat and are less likely to whipsaw up and down.

When moving averages do crossover you should take notice at once. If the fast EMA crosses below the slow EMA, it is predicting new downward price action. If the fast EMA crosses above the slow EMA, it is predicting a new upward price action.

MA crossovers often occur too late and will put you in the market with an unfavorable risk to reward ratio. Beware such crossovers should not prompt you to jump into a trade at once.

Not every crossover is the same. A crossover should be part of the trade plan that you have developed in advance. Moving average crossovers are great as they are easy to see and will immediately attract your attention but they simply do not replace the work of planning your trades.

Last week currency traders were bearish on the US dollar as it showed declines over the world’s major currencies. Any effect the surprising increase in personal spending was at least partially offset by savings jumping to it’s highest level in 15 years.

The EUR/USD was up on Friday and closed the trading week at around 1.4070. This was a gain on the week for the Euro of a little more than 100 pips and just missed hitting new yearly highs against the US dollar. The trading range for the currency pair remained very wide and a clear trend has yet to emerge. Technical analysis of the currency pair indicates there is some consolidation going on after the last major gains to the upside. There is a resistance level around 1.4080 and support levels around 1.3925.

The British pound rose against the US dollar for the 3rd week in a row, but like the EUR/USD pair, failed to break out of its recent technical highs. The GBP/USD currency pair had a brief spike trading up to around 1.6536 just after the US released its personal spending and personal income and savings data. High volatility makes it difficult to discern short term resistance and support levels, however currency traders believe it will continue to move in the 1.62 to 1.66 range.

The New Zealand dollar was also gaining on the US dollar hitting three week highs and trading on the week around 0.5165. Part of the news driving the NZD/USD currency pair higher was a 50 basis point interest rate cut by New Zealand’s Central Bank, bringing the target interest rate down to 3%.

The USD/JPY finished off the week on Friday at around 95.26 and USD/CAD ended last week at around 1.1524 after bouncing off of a technical resistance level of 1.3 for the 4th time in recent trading. The dollar yen currency pair has been showing lessening volatility and tightening bollinger bands and should continue to trade in a range of 95.00 to 96.50. However watch for a near term breakout to the upside if it goes above the top resistance line. The USD/CAD is having somewhat of a consolodation period but is still bullish and is continuing its consistent rise, with 1.1640 the next resistance level.

The Swiss national bank was rumored to be intervening in the forex markets again last week. The bank admitted to getting involved in the markets previously around March 12 of this year. During the London trading session on the 12th they were buying Euros and selling the Swiss Franc and During the New York session they were buying the US dollar and selling francs. All in an attempt to lower the price of the Swiss currency and stave off deflation. The strategy has not worked very well in the recent past and did not seem to have the intended effect as the Franc gained around 1.3% against both the US Dollar and the EURO after each intervention. It has also been tried on a large scale with the British Pound, legendary investor George Soros’ claim to fame was when he believe the central bank actions could not support the price of the currency and made more than a billion dollars in his fund after the government abandoned the strategy. The Japanese central bank has had the most success with this strategy, striving to keep the US Dollar around a 100 Yen.

After all this, including a bounce on Wednesday and a drop on Thursday and Friday the pair closed out the week at 1.0825. The USD/CHF currency pair continued trading mostly sideways with no clear trend present. For the next few weeks many traders expect the pair to trade around 1.078 indicating more sideways price action in what has always been considered the safe haven currency.

We often can see many traders using the same trading system? Surprisingly some of them are making profit while others are losing money? What is the secret? It is the intuition of successful traders helps them to make right decisions. Therefore the subject of this article is intuition in tradign currencies.

Success in any area of human life has a lot to do with intuition. Let’s define the intuition for Forex trader. Intuition in trading is the decision making ability that goes beyond the rational thinking. Each trader trades with his own risk level. That can be attributed to intuition. Another question is, can you learn currency trading and develop your intuition?

Indeed this choice is based on trial and error or intuition. There is no formula to give the exact answer which risk level will suit you as a trader. Every trader takes certain risk and only inner voice can give him a hint on what will be the right level.

This is just an example. The role of intuition does not end on choosing a risk level. Trader uses his intuition quite often. It’s impossible to estimate with mathematical accuracy all the parameters in the Forex market. You can not take into consideration every internal and external parameter that is involved in the process of making decision.

Therefore trader must make a subjective decision. It is in that subjectivity intuition is contained. Therefore we can give another definition for intuition – it is the way of perceiving and processing the information from environment which is invisible for our conscious mind..

Such decision however is based not only on irrational intuition but also on trader’s knowledge and experience. That does not mean however that a trader needs large amount of knowledge about the market. All that is required is to focus attention on the most important aspects of the market.

It is the intuition that has that power to direct your focus towards the more important information. It is almost like an instinct of perceiving the right information. However it develops with the experience.

With the experience trader develops so called feel of market. He feels the momentum of the price movement. If he senses any kind of change in momentum, he will take action to protect his capital and make profit. That can be considered as an intuitive decision.

The losing of such “feel” of market can mean loss of the capital. Therefore for most successful traders that intuitive feel serves continuously. It goes almost subconsciously like breathing. He keeps analyzing the information but conscious mind does not notice it.

All people are familiar with the life situation when action must be based not on rational decision making process. Sometimes it is not possible because of information overload or lack of it. Therefore we take actions based on our “inner voice”. Very often those actions are the most successful ones.

Psychology tells us that a trader can see the entire situation in as a whole complex unity. The question remains: can one develop such intuitive abilities or is it a personal trait that is really hard to change? In my opinion we all have it however our continuous effort can develop it much more.

You should avoid brokers that like to play games such as holding trades in slow and fast moving markets to gain advantage at your expense. Establish a live account with a forex broker known for integrity. Choice of the right forex broker will determine whether you succeed in trading or not. Always plan a trade with more than a scalper’s mentality of making 1-5 pips per trade. This way a broker has ample time to cover a submitted trade or pass it onto a clearing house.

5) Suppose you have experience of trading other markets. Even then invest in personal education when trading forex. The forex is a totally different industry. It has much more volatility than other markets. Make sure the mentoring person is walking the talk. When selecting a mentor to assist you in developing the skills necessary to survive trading the forex and make profit, make sure he has been a successful trader in his/her trading career.

6) Attitude is everything in the markets. Learn self discipline as a forex trader. The greatest distance to overcome in each trade is between the ears. Only disciplined traders succeed in the long run.

7) Don’t give up! It is necessary to just hang in there even if it takes times to trade the demo account and a mini account. Persevere in the markets. All too often, traders go live way too soon and lose their money because they have skipped the necessary steps.

You charge change your brainy attitude aboriginal from a accustomed actuality to that of a speculator. About all traders I accept met, except a few acknowledged ones who absolutely fabricated millions and billions trading in the market, artlessly decay all their time aggravating to apprentice the easiest allotment in perfection, like about how to apprehend abstracts and charts, and aggravating to absolute access and avenue skills, etc. Trading is a apperception bold and afterwards accepting a appropriate anatomy of mind, it is a accident bold alike afore it starts. Training a trader?s apperception is the aboriginal footfall for any acknowledged banker but about all new traders carelessness that allotment and that explains why added than 95% of traders are a abortion in the continued run.

Acquiring the ability of the bazaar is not difficult for anyone with boilerplate intelligence afterwards a few years of adamantine abstraction in the market. But it is neither the akin of intelligence nor the ability that decides the aftereffect of the bazaar operations of a trader. It is the accommodation authoritative action that is so adamantine for the great traders to affected and that is the capital acumen for a success or a abortion for all the traders. Some acquisition it accessible to accomplish decisions and stick to it and best acquisition it so adamantine to accomplish decisions and stick to it. Unfortunately, any accommodation authoritative action in trading is a pain-taking action and bodies tend to abstain pains and go for pleasures alike if for acting ones. Bold one has acquired abundant bazaar ability and acquired one?s accurate trading arrangement (this is the additional best important aspect of success in trading, in fact. An bend in any arrangement is based on the affection of advice one has, archive actuality alone an advice of accessory affection not the best one)

Through studies and research, a banker faces the assignment of authoritative decisions to put this ability and arrangement into practice. Then, how abounding traders can candidly say they can accomplish their agronomical back the barter is appropriate by their own arrangement (given that trading is aloof a adventitious game) and let the accumulation run for weeks and months back their arrangement tells them, and how abounding can administer to cut the accident as a accepted action back the bearings arise. It all sounds so accessible back adage it but so difficult back accomplishing it affecting absolute money in the market. I still do not beddy-bye able-bodied back I am active position because alike if the profits are active into a few hundred dollars and the arrangement is cogent you to backpack on, there is no agreement that the accumulation will about-face into a backyard or two in a ages time, and it may alike about-face into a accident in a day or two back article abrupt happens. A assiduous action in absolute sense. The affliction is not alive what will appear in the approaching and in abhorrence of losing. So at the end of the day, bold one has appropriate trading arrangement and bazaar ability and appropriate info, it is ultimately how acclimatized and how able-bodied that banker can booty the affliction of authoritative appropriate decisions at the appropriate time that decides the aftereffect of the trades. Hence I alarm trading a apperception game. Back I account -to-be adolescent traders, I consistently attending for acclimatized and absolute actuality as my aboriginal antecedence as continued as one has appropriate education, but abnormally in abounding cases, it is some affectionate of ability or half-genius with lots of accuracy with no disciplines who about-face up for an account cerebration alone ablaze bodies can accomplish acceptable traders.

In fact, I consistently try to pyramid while position trading medium-term already I am assertive of a new medium-term trend emerging. Like in USD/JPY position trading 135-132 as an antecedent position, abacus in 132 and 129 areas. Same for AUD/USD and EUR/USD with agnate strategies. But sitting on positions and watching the counter-rallies costing barter amount of money is not accessible job to do and causes lots of affliction all the time. Best traders alike amid accomplished ones cannot buck that affliction and accord up too early. But there is no added way to accomplish a big money and we accept to chaw the ammo and “sit and accumulate” as continued as the medium-term trend is intact. That is why I consistently accept cerebral aspects of trading is far added important than annihilation abroad in acknowledged trading. A apperception bold like those backbiting bold of poker.

Entries and exits can never be “irrelevant” for any banker for any purpose. It is aloof that cerebral aspects of trading are abundant added important than entries and exits, and absolute for the success or abortion of a banker in the continued run. Perhaps exits are added important than entries because any absolute or near-perfect entries are accessible alone in hindsight.

Currency Investing

Well the second quarter has just come to an end and everyone on The Street is anxious to see what the results were. According to Bloomberg, stock prices in the second quarter had rebounded sharply from the previous quarter and stock indices were up the most for a quarter since 1998. Of course much of this has to do with the fact that the first quarter was one of the worst for stocks in history, but let’s not ruin a good story for the want of a few facts. Still the question remains, will the market continue to rise?

In order to see if this market has legs and can continue, we must first take look at what has been causing it to rise in the first place. Quite frankly, the only things causing this market to move up are the hope and prayer that second quarter earnings aren’t going to be absolutely atrocious!

As Bob noted in a blog last week, there’s a good probability that there won’t be enough economic data this summer to send the markets significantly higher or lower. This is going to turn the focus back onto individual companies and their earnings. And the dreaded green shoots—will there be signs of life???

Here’s what the market needs to see out of corporate earnings in order to sustain these levels and go higher:

Companies need to provide somewhat positive guidance for Q3 and beyond.

Have corporate layoffs allowed companies to reduce their costs enough to begin to return to profitability? Or is more job loss expected? Obviously, more jobs lost mean more difficulty for the economy in general, but this could allow companies to operate “leaner and meaner” to eke out profits.

The bar has been set very low for these companies so any misses in earnings will be seen as very bearish.

As you can see, there is a lot riding on this corporate earnings season and the outlook right now appears to be pretty bleak. If corporate earnings can show signs of life, and companies are beginning to turn it around, then this could stabilize the markets for the next push higher.

If, on the other hand, earnings come in worse than expected, then all the rhetoric and catch phrases for economic recovery won’t amount to anything. Should the latter occur, keep an eye on the US dollar (UUP) and Japanese yen (FXY), as the flight to safety trade returns and currency investors pour out of the riskier currencies and return to the dollar and yen. We’re already seeing signs of it today with the poor Non-Farm payrolls numbers in the early session.

So earnings kick off next week with Alcoa (AA). Let’s hope that it gets started on a positive note, otherwise it could turn out to be a very long summer!

The summer doldrums are definitely here as the stock prices crept upwards on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial average had the largest percentage gain of the three major averages rising 90.99 or 1.08% points to close around 8529.38. The Nasdaq added 5.84 or 0.32% and ended the day at 1844.06 and the S and P 500 Index finished up 8.33 or 0.91% settling at 927.23. The news of the day was unrelated to trading and involved Bernie Madoff getting a sentence of 150 years in a medium security detention facility, meaning the 71 year old crook will likely die behind bars.

The earnings season is also creeping up on us and the largest tax preparer H and R Block reported today. The companies earnings were better than most stock traders were expecting saying in their press release that income from continuing operations grew to $513 million or 15%. Their earnings per share grew to $1.53 up from $1.36 in the same period last year. Their consolidated net income increased to $1.45 per share or $486 million after reporting a loss for the same period last year. They said earnings for the full year 2010 from continuing operations were expected to be $1.60 to $1.80 per share. They closed at 15.67 per share up around .25 or 1.62% around its highs for the day, it is still down nearly 33% year to date.

The other report stock traders were focused on was Apollo Group, Inc. which reported its third quarter fiscal 2009 results. Apollo Group is a company primary focused on higher education for working adults and runs colleges such as the University Of Phoenix and Western International University. Some of the most important parts of their press release were posting their first quarterly revenue of over $1 billion a 26% increase over the same period last year. Apollo reported $201 million in net income on revenue of $1.05 billion for the three months ending May 31, 2009. The company had a third quarter profit of $1.26 per share significantly higher than the .85 cents per share they reported in the year ago period. Also well above analyst consensus estimates of 1.12 per share. The stock opened the day slightly higher but then dropped more 3.6% ahead of the news to close at 65.99 per share. After the bell Apollo Group jumped 5.3% and was trading around 69.53. Look for that good size pop to follow through on Tuesday.

Stock markets on Monday saw a decline in trading volume since the couple large moves last week and should continue the lazy summer trading tomorrow. Tuesdays most popular earnings release will be Sealy Corporation which analysts expected to make 0.04 cents per share. For Tuesday June 30 stock market investors will also be watching the release of the Chicago PMI (Purchasing Managers Index). The Chicago PMI is a survey released by the Institute of Supply Management surveying manufacturing and non-manufacturing business conditions in the Chicago area. Numbers above 50 percent indicate an expanding business sector. Stock traders are looking for healthy economic growth the thinking being that means corporate profits will be higher. While bond traders look for moderate growth that won’t create inflation. May’s number was weaker than expected at 34.9 and the consensus for June is estimated to be 40.

The other economic release traders will be watching is the consumer confidence number. The Conference Board surveys five thousand consumers across the country and asks them about their attitudes and expectations of the economy. Consumer spending is two thirds of the economy so their confidence directly and significantly affects economic growth. Stock market bulls want a high number which would mean higher corporate profits, while bond traders are always worried about excessive inflation should the consumer be overconfident. The number for May was 54.9 a major jump off the April level of 40.8 and the consensus estimate for June is 57.
